Opportunity knocks

This pair of snowy egrets were partnering in their fishing excursion; the bait fish were starting to school by the gazillions, and there were predator fish out in the water driving them closer in to shore.

Caught between hungry trout in the water, and egrets in the shallows, it was fun watching the silvery flashing of myriad bait fish as they swam for their lives. And also to see these opportunist egrets spear the little minnows, when they ventured too close.

Love the way they are ''hawking'' at preospective food. Love the colour of the water too. Does darker colours mean the water is very deep?:)
