This reminds me of something from the southwest rather than Sarasota. I guess the Spanish influence is strong in both places. ;D

@Judy aka L@dybug: Lots of Spanish influence in coastal Florida - DeSoto landed in nearby Bradenton during his explorations of the Southeast.

I was going to say the balconies look spanish. Is Sarasota under some kind of Spanish influence?The balconies look like they could do with some flowers:)

@tyan: Yes there is Spanish influence in the architecture around here. And yes, I agree, flowers would dress up these balconies. But a lot of people only live in these condo apts. for part of the year - from November to May. Then they lock them up and travel north for the summer.
