In spite of the red flags all over the place, some people think they apply to someone else. Like this erstwhile surfer, trying to catch a Tropical Storm Debby wave.

One of them came out of the water and walked by me, headed for his automobile. I smiled and said, "You're brave." He smiled back and said, "Brave, or stupid." I laughed and said, "I guess you can take your pick." He smiled again, but I hope he thought about that one for a while.

Good shot, Glenn. I hope the fellow you spoke with thought about that one and picked the latter!
Foolish actions can cause so much trouble and I always think of the rescuers who then put their lives at risk.

Nice share...both the shot and story of your conversation. Wild Debbie water... I wouldn't be out there. But I might like to be taking photos with you.

Great time to take the camera out for a walk, not such a good idea to be getting into that raging torrent of water though.

Yes, he was stupid just as you were thinking. ;-)

Such completely dominate power is the surf, driven by the unseen, which is why we are mesmerized and even drawn into it. That power. Gorgeous and scary shot. Love it.
