John A. Wilson has died. He's a guy I met a few years ago here on Am3, but in that time he became an important friend, photo-mentor and all around internet buddy. I'm gonna miss you, John.
So John, I decided to interrupt my New Orleans series today to post one of my favorites of your many outstanding, excellent, amazing photographs. Naturally, it's a shot you took at Pfeiffer Beach at Big Sur. It was not easy to pick only one favorite, but I decided this is the one. I think it's because you clued me in to this place when we visited San Francisco and the coast a couple of years ago. I knew you wouldn't steer me wrong - and you didn't. Having been there, I now know why it's one of your most favorite places on this earth. It has become one of mine.
This picture is yours, John. And this post is a tribute to you and the many lives you've touched along the way. One of those is our mutual friend Judy. Here's her special way of remembering...
Godspeed, good friend. Until we meet again.
