Only the silhouetted pine and palm branches and the touch of this lilac-purple jacaranda tree in bloom tattle on the actual location of this windmill.
A touch of Iowa resides two doors down from my house in Bradenton, FL. The most unlikely thing you can imagine here in the tropics is this red and white windmill (lifesize and working).
Even odder is the red barn right below it in the middle of the Florida city of Bradenton (look here tomorrow).
Its owner is an older gentleman who is a transplant from Iowa farm life.
Nostalgia for him; Florida Heartland for everyone else. Heh...
