Tampa at Twilight

Shot this Tampa twilight scene from a place called Jackson's; used my iPhone camera. Grainy, but I like it.

I actually like the grain, the iPhone 3Gs's camera is probably the best camera on a cellphone i've ever used. Autofocus and "spot metering" is also really nice. (sadly, last night i washed mine with my pants, and I had to get it replaced).

@Chris Pereira: I'm sorry to hear of your first iPhone's fate. One question - how often did you need to recharge the battery? It seems like that's the one drawback to mine. Often needs recharging. Great camera, though (I mean for a phone camera).

how come you can get a straight horizon with an iPhone, but not with a DSLR? Does that thing have built in level? ............;-)
pretty nice shot for a cell phone - the lights and colors are nice........

@Chris: Lol. i can still straighten it on picasa in one click or two.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

But it gives such an ethereal feelings, and the colours mesh softly, not to mention that divine reflection, wow aphone...

@Lorraine: When we were kids, whodathunk a phone could also be a camera?

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Very little signs of camera shake either (1/10 sec.)

Hey, Glenn - thanks for saying you were using the iPhone. I was scratching my head at the soft focus and grain - it just didn't look like your work.

1 Mar 2010 7:22pm

@Stephen Phillips: Haha. I think the evening/night shots will almost always be more grainy than daytime or in good lighting. Also, I won't sell my real cameras, but for a phone camera it works reasonably well.

Judy from Brooksville, Florida, United States

Just look at that colorful Hillsborough River ... what a neat shot, Glenn!
Jackson's sounds like a pretty nice place too ... did you have sushi?

1 Mar 2010 9:07pm

@Judy: No sushi, but seafood - calamari and other gems of the sea.
