Hot Brown

Posted by
Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 28 September 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

There's a famous sandwich in Louisville, KY called the "hot Brown" which originated at the historic Brown Hotel. This is not that sandwich.

This is another look at the rocky Pacific coast off Bodega Bay, from a place called "Bodega Head" nearby. We are looking through some marine fog and at a certain "golden" time of day. Lots of warm browns here... but no sepia sandwiches.

This is so beautiful ... all those browns with a hint of color in the water and of course, the sky.
A wonderful composition!

Did you say you are serving sandwiches for your audience today?
In this case bring me one for lunch and dinner, it appears I am going to be sitting here awhile to take in this magnificent view.
I am in awe at the mist and the rocky landscape. This is beautiful.

@Barbara: Haha. Sorry, no sandwiches. Just what I'm hoping is a treat for the eyes. I share the feeling of awe you expressed; to think I actually got to stand there and take all this in was a peak experience for me during our too-short visit to SF and this part of the N. Cali coast.

I love this composition with the sun trying to radiate through the fog and the random boulders jutting out of the water. The one in center seems to "anchor" the photo.
