A rockpile and seaweed, left over from a beach campfire that never quite happened, now seems like just one more reminder that summer is coming to a close. Cape Cod is definitely changing her cheerful summer look, in anticipation of the coming of a far more austere season.

Another very cool Cape Cod image VF. I really like how the dark seaweed contrasts with the light stones. And the composition is awesome too.

I made it to the cranberry bogs of Cape Code several times but never made it to the beach. Sad. Cool shot BTW!

I love the smooth round shape of beach "pebbles". I've never been to Cape Cod but it sounds like a wonderful place and for me Fall seems like an awesome time to go. Less crowds wonderful warm sweaters for dealing with the fall chill in the air. My brother was a regular visitor there and he would only go in Sept.-Oct. to avoid all the crowds. Some day!

I love this little delightful leftover, it will be replaced by the formidable Autumn and Bella can run through the fallen leaves with great joy and perfect health :)

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine. Bella would love to do that. And probably would if Autumn happened in FL - but she still enjoys the moderating temps and gets kind of "fall-frisky" on cool mornings. FYI, she has her first follow-up appointment with her vet cardiologist on Oct. 14th.

My misspent youth was passed in New England. sometimes I miss it, particularly this time of year when the maples do their thing. The coast can have a haunting bleakness to it, particularly The Cape.

"Meow" goes out to Bella.

Creative compositon and framing of the shot. Great in B&W.
It is wonderful to hear Bella is enjoying the cool weather. I think we are too.
There was such a nice breeze today too.
