Now, for a complete change of pace, some archive shots -- yes, oldies are coming for this next week. More of my old slides converted to digital images for our viewing pleasure (hopefully). Today, this souvenir giftshop interior film camera oldie was taken during seminary years spent in Iowa.

I'm an SEC person, so living in Big Ten land was a real culture shock; the Iowa Hawkeyes were the big thing around there. I could scarcely hear any news about my beloved LSU Tigers for three whole years; it was pre-internet days, so all depended on TV and newspaper reports. Confession: I did develop a continuing mild fondness for the 'Hawks.

It's fun to look back and remember ... we had friends who thought the sun and moon revolved around the Hawkeyes. ;D

An image of interest makes me curious what the rest of the room looks like. The painted brick and arch tell me this is an old structure. Sorry I am not a sports fan so I had no clue what the flyer symbolized until I read your commentary. I enjoy oldies.
Hmmm, will we see Bella's collection of stuffed squeak toys someday? So wonderful to hear she is doing well. Blessings.

Really, Hawks? How can you allow your self to be infected like that? I have enjoyed your picts here and seek their inspiration daily. Campus is totally different here....you would be shocked by the married housing. I would live there. Love,

@Ellen: Hahaha! Ellen it's great to get a comment from ya, busy as you must be!

Don't worry, no infection, just dabbling. There's lots of room in the old trophy case for the occasional "go Hawks!" impulse. Plus, I keep a few other "near-favorite" teams in there, too... UK, FSU, UGA, GA Tech, SoCarolina, Clemson, Marshall (just a few of the teams on my list). But my real college football heart has room for one, and only one - you know it - LSU.

I am really glad you visit my site, if mostly silently. If you get inspiration from your visits here, then I am truly blessed to hear this. Please keep coming back. Sharing my photos and occasional thoughts here with long time dear friends, plus new Am3 friends I've met here is a special joy for me.

I've seen photos of the married housing in some alum stuff they send; they seem far better than anything, ANYTHING we had to live in while I was there. And you're right, they want $$ from their alums. But since they ought to know I'm just a poor minister, then they can't be too disappointed when the big bucks don't fly from my checkbook to their mailbox very often.

My next door neighbor is a Hawkeye! I'm a Missouri Tiger. We flatlanders end up in all sorts of places. "Kitty" Bella continues to send her feline best to canine Bella.
