So Not Urban

Being a born and raised big city boy, I am he who had no relatives living on farms in the countryside of flatland Louisiana. Whenever I come to a spot like this I am swept up in wondering what it might have been like to grow up close to the earth near such a magical place as this fenced California field.

NIce, Glenn - it has me wondering if these wood fences are endangered? Everywhere along the rural landscape bright new white plastic ones that seem to be dominating the scene.

I think exactly the same time every time i leave the city. I was born and raised in the 11th largest city in the US and the capital of Silicon Valley -.- I love the countryside, parks, and small towns. I go there as often as I can. Great composition, i love the fence running through the frame.

I spent some time when I was six living in an area very much like this, but in the rolling hills of Alberta. My Dad was a preacher and he was serving in a little town called Bergen. This gorgeous shot brings back some special memories.

I lived in the city until I was 15, then moved to western NJ where it was very much like this. I preferred the country and still do. Really nice composition, Glenn. Beautiful neutrals.

A wonderful compostion, Glenn, with the dominant fence, the open field and then another hint of fencing at the top and perhaps a shed roof? I've never lived in a city, but neither have I had open fields like this to romp.

I went to highschool in a small town surrounded by farmland--it was awful. Everyone knows everything about you and there is no such thing as anonymity and privacy. Not to mention, there isn't anything for people to do (museums, cafes, rec centers, etc.)

I like how the fence leads us into the shot....and then we spot a bit of fence at the top of the hill. Excellent composition.

Love your composition here highlighting the rolling hill. Seeing the split rail fence above also helps give the illusion that this is one large fenced-in field. Love the whisping look of the tall grasses, too.
