I Wish...

This is one of those "I wish" shots. As in, I wish I'd noticed this woman's shadow wasn't totally framed inside my camera when I composed this photo.

Here's the story: I was looking down from the top of Bodega Head and had been watching her and her male friend scale their way down some pretty steep trails and rock cliffs to reach this pristine beach below where we were standing. She seemed glad to be off the rocks - she was almost prancing as she walked across the sand. I was impressed that she maneuvered down the rock cliffs in flip-flops, and figured she must be a local to be that brave. Or a tourist to be that dumb. Either way I shot this photo of her proudly marching along the beach.

It was only later that I even noticed her shadow. Now I wish I had noticed earlier, and captured this woman and her shadow, in full.
