Rapt AttentionPosted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 10 June 2009 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. You are the prey. You are swimming dangerously close to the water's surface. You sense something in the space above the water. You don't know what it is, but you are uneasy. Still, you swim on - something on the surface has attracted you. Maybe a fat, juicy bug floating there. The raptor hovering above is watching, ready to make the rapid descent that will lift you from the water and feed its young. This is the life and death story of the osprey and its main source of food, fresh fish caught from the Myakka River.
