BirdwatcherPosted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 6 June 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Myakka River State Park is a great place for viewing all kinds of Florida-based and migratory birds. Our friend Rhonda was part of the group we were with; she has a great eye for spotting not only birds, but all kinds of wildlife hidden in the tall grasses and bush of the park. At one point she led all of us on an off-trail chase thru palmetto scrub forest in pursuit of a barred owl. We could hear it calling from the trees, but never got close enough for a photo.
