Hmmm...a horse? and some seagulls? Nice details. I like the depth and quality of the light. It picks up the little details.

@Laurie: People ride horses on this bayside beach. And yes, seagull or shorebird prints beside this one big horseshoe impression.

I love shooting images like this. Well done.

@MontereyJohn: Thank you John. I loved the late in the day lighting along the bay this particular day, then when I found the mix of prints (horse, shorebird), it was just irresistable.
Must be a horse? The light is just beautiful. Some people like to collect shells as they walk along the beach... me? I like to photograph the shells on the beach (or anything else interesting).

@Betty: Yes, it's a horse. People ride them along this bayside beach. And I'm like you, I carry my camera as I walk along. But I am not above taking home the occasional beautiful shell or sand dollar.
Wow...this looks to 'clean' to be a horse's print in the sand; usually the sand gets scuffed up as they lift their hoof. I'm stumped!
I love your quote, but also know that "Dogs come into our lives and leave pawprints on our hearts ... and we are never, ever the same."

@Judy: These are definitely prints from a horse; I agree they look too clean, but this is fairly solid-packed and moist sand, enough to hold the shape cleanly. And dog "footprints" as well as the occasional cat (or horse) can well leave their mark on our hearts, changing us forever.
I Love it VF - what a fantatsic image. I'm glad to see from your responses that my first guess of horse shoe prints was right!!! Thank you for all of your visits while I was away. I am happy to say I am going to be a far more regular visitor now that the past few crazy weeks are over!!!

@Mandy Provan: Thanks Mandy, it's good to have you back from vacation. And you're welcome for the comments left at your postings while you were away.
Sweet how those footprints leave a little story . . and, yes, now you have mentioned, I see yours there, too !

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks for noticing my "little" impression. BTW, do you notice the overturned shell; one of the shorebirds was obviously foraging under it for food.
Excellent! Well spotted. How special it is to be on a saddle walking the beach.
In my case "Cats come into our lives and leave pawprints on our hearts ... and we are never, ever the same." A bird too!
