Never Forget

Veterans Day in America, or Armistice Day in France. The grand, sweeping war memorials and monuments all speak of higher ideals.

A single place like this, with its humble little flag, speaks of sacrifices made on a far more human and personal scale. The price of freedom is steep, but thanks from us all belongs to those willing to pay it. And to their families.

If you know a veteran, be sure to do something or say something that says, "Thanks!"

yep.Many of these just lay here forgotten for the immense sacrifice they made.After being a mom and wife,i sometimes imagine what if husband has to sacrifice himself in a war.What would i do for the rest of my life?But there are already so many wives and mothers who have to cope with that everyday.

We are having a special service next Sunday, showing 'before and later' photos projected of each of our veterans who dug into their pasts to find them, including music for each of the different branches.

Nice tribute... My father was in the 120 infantry, 30th division (old Hickory) of M company... We always met with all his buddies once a year and they discussed the war They were the greatest generation

Like John say : On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the guns fell silent. Exactly 90 years later the cicatrices of 'great war' still visible in the landscape of Belgium. Today they blow the special Last post at 11.11th. Such as each day at 20.00th.

Remembrance Day here in Canada (and used to be called Armistice Day). My Grandfather was a liberating soldier at Auschwitz. Excellent tribute VF.

A salute to my late father - Arnold - who was severely wounded in the South Pacific in 1943. My birth was a direct result - as they shipped him off to Bethesda Naval Hospital where my mother volunteered in the USO. It is where they met. To all who have served past and present. To those who perished. Suffered. Endured. To you all.
