Dia de los Muertos

In honor of Mexico's "Day of the Dead" here are a whole bunch of silver skull rings on display at a restaurant gift shop, in Ybor City, Tampa, FL (The Columbia House).

I think the rings' shiny silver finish gave my little point'n'shoot's auto focus a hard time.

I think you're right the sheen being an issue. ;D

This brought back memories of the Ossuary in Hallstatt, Austria, where real skulls are stored. There was a reverence in the little 'chapel' that was palpable.

Interesting. I'd never heard of the "Day of the Dead" before. Are skull rings a part of this or is this just a coincidental find? It looks like there are a lot of those rings so they must be a popular item.

Never heard of Day of the Dead...always heard about All Saints Day for Today.

The focus issue adds character for this kind of image. It was not long ago that I realized this holiday. Halloween is enough for me.
