Among the FallenPosted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 9 October 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. And just so you will know that yesterday's fallen leaf was no fluke, and not limited to just that one sycamore, here's another leaf I found, even more colorful than the first. It too is among Florida's autumnal fallen. I'm not sure when the tour buses will arrive...

Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesSo even Florida has fall foliage. Nice details in the leaf. 9 Oct 2008 5:42am @Laurie: We get great colors in Summer (flowers); Fall is another story... Betty from New Jersey, United StatesThank you so much for my morning laugh! Fall in Florida is a little drab, but at least it's there! Thank you for showing us! :-) Hugs to Bella! 9 Oct 2008 9:48am @Betty: You are so welcome, I am laughing too. Judy from Brooksville-Florida,, United StatesWait, I want to catch the bus! <grin> I pray Bella's angst was due to a rumble of thunder or something of that nature. 9 Oct 2008 9:50am @Judy: Oh I do understand. Bella always seems to know when it's Sunday and she will have to spend the whole morning *alone* as we depart for church. MJ from Delaware, United StatesMy tour bus will be there at halloween.... I check them out and hopefully get to see the beautiful colored leaves....great shot 9 Oct 2008 11:34am @MJ: We'll look for you on Oct 31st, then. A real "Trick" for "trick or treat." It will be a trick to find those autumn leaves here in FL. Chris from South Jersey, United StatesAre you sure that you aren't just picking the leaves off the trees and laying them on the ground?!? Nice shot - the colors and textures work well together..... 9 Oct 2008 3:18pm @Chris: Haha, thanks. But no am not faking Fall, this leaf is the real deal. Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesI like the colors here a lot - but yesterday's seemed the better composition. 9 Oct 2008 3:24pm @Stephen Phillips: I agree, but then one takes autumn in Florida where it falls. Heh. Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWell see, there is hope, 2 coloured leaves in a row :) pretty impressive....lol Love to Bella and prayers 9 Oct 2008 3:33pm @Lorraine: I might get spoiled. Oh, I think I hear the tour bus pulling up now, and the shouts of excited fall leaf watchers running up the driveway... ;o) tyan from Singapore, Singaporelook out for me i'll be on that bus,red rose on pink blouse,2 kids in toll.LOL:) 9 Oct 2008 4:22pm @tyan: Ok, I'll save a spot for you to see this amazing leaf... Mandy Provan from Johannesburg, South AfricaYou'd better watch out VF with this spectacular display of Autmn leaves those tour buses are going to be arriving any minute!!! :) It's a great image my friend. I wanted to thank you for your very kind words over at my blog today! It was just what I needed to brighten up my day! :) 9 Oct 2008 8:50pm @Mandy Provan: You are so welcome, Mandy. And thanks for "getting the joke" of my last two photos. I'm not sure all visitors understood my sense of humor. alex centrella from California, United Statessome fall colors and nice composition. 9 Oct 2008 9:44pm @alex centrella: Thanks Alex, in my part of Florida you really gotta look hard to find anything that even resembles Autumnal colors. vu@granby - Alain Berger from Granby, Québec, CanadaI am not sure I like the fall colors ! 9 Oct 2008 11:03pm @vu@granby - Alain Berger: Some people are so hard to please (<--I'm saying this with a friendly smile). I do hope you understand these last two photos have been a spoof on how non-autumnal tropical Florida really is. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomWe all deserve a little autumn colour, no matter where in the world we are, got to go I've got to catch that tour bus you mentioned and I'd hate to miss it . :) 10 Oct 2008 12:47am @MaryB: Mary, I think your seat on the bus is right next to Judy, MJ, tyan and her two boys... heh. Kylie Greenan from AustraliaFantastic green and gold, the Aussie colours ;o), I love this against the stark browns of the earth, well seen and captured VF. I lit a candle and throught of Dear Bella last night and sent up a prayer to St Francis of Assisi, my patron saint and the saint of animals that he will look after your Bella and produce a miracle in 4 days, hugs to her! 10 Oct 2008 12:59am @Kylie Greenan: Kylie, thank you so very much for your caring, for the candle, the thoughts and the prayers for Bella. And if the good St. Francis has a hand praying in this too, then I am sure glad, because he is a special person of God in my book, too. Blessings to you, dear friend. And I am very glad my leaf is flying its Aussie colors -- green and gold were also my high school colors. JJ from Jersey City, United Stateslovely colors in this leaf, maybe not the autumn colors many know but still beautiful and refreshingly different 10 Oct 2008 1:18am @JJ: When you are as autumnally challenged as we are in this part of Florida, well you gotta find your colors where you can. You are very kind JJ, thanks. Barbara from Florida, United StatesThis one is worth framing. After the crowd arrives of course. Great Florida soveigner. If anymore fall you could open a gift shop to out sell the shells. 10 Oct 2008 3:29am |
