As this photo indicates, Bella is in good spirits, eating well and seemingly thriving. It's just that her heart condition saps her levels of stamina, and there is the ever-present risk of a sudden and perhaps fatal heart episode if she over-exerts. So we are careful to keep her daily exercise to a prudent but manageable rate - short neighborhood walks, yard time when the temps are moderate, car rides to special places like parks and beaches. Plus care with her diet and meds, coupled with lots and lots of love and attention. She's responding well to all this. But with God's blessings, I feel the prayers of our friends, near and far, help most of all. Thank you.

@Les: Thank you for the kind words; I'm sure your Annie was a beauty if she had that mix. We've wondered if Bella's mix was also some kind of collie strain because of looks and also her gentle, sweet disposition.

@Stephen Phillips: Thank you for the good wishes. Bella has been doing well, but we won't really know how well until she gets to her vet cardiologist and he does the various cardio grams and other tests that will see into her heart and those aortic valves that have been damaged. We are hoping to hear of some improvement; I am praying for a complete healing but I know that might take a bit of time.
