One Saturday Morning on My Street.4

One of the treats of our neighborhood is this small lake. It's directly across the street from our house, and behind the line of houses we walk by. We can peek between them to see a really fantastic view of the morning light at play on the usually very calm water.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AT AM3. I am out and probably away from the computer all this week. We are headed to north Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with our son and his wife and her family. I hope everyone who celebrates this holiday has a wonderful day, filled with turkey and gratitude for every blessing. And those who do not, I hope will remember to count their blessings and be thankful. Packing and getting the SUV all set for the drive today; we leave very early Tuesday morning and plan to return sometime Sunday.

This is lovely, Glenn. The water seems quite high; do you have any problems with flooding in the area?

I'd like to see Bella take our Belle for a walk. Ours is so timid with other animals; Bella would be dragging her along. ;D

@Judy: No flooding so far; the rains have been great for replenishing the drying up lakes. I can see the level of this one has risen since earlier spring, but not to flood levels.
And, Hahaha...Bella has no problem greeting other animals; if anything, she misses cues when others are not as openly friendly as she. Which can get scary if the other dog is big or bigger than Bella, and aggressive. So we don't let these kinds of encounters happen. Plus her doggie cardiologist has told us to keep her away from other dogs - the excitement might be more than her heart can handle. Of course, this is impossible 100 per cent of the time. And we don't want Bella's life to be one of total isolation. So once in a while as we walk along, short leashed enounters may still happen. And Bella revels in these. Plus cats, kittens, squirrels, and whatever...

Such a lovely peaceful scene. Love the story about Bella and the kitten. Bella sounds like such a sweetie. Another pat and prayer for her. She has become so special to all of us.

I like the tree framing the shot. A wonderful place to have a peaceful walk. My concern is there has to be a gator or two in that pond and I am sure you know about walking a pet too close. I was interviewed on our local news last year about how those walking their pets near the water need to be extra cautious. Gators can be invisible until you are right in front of them.
Good to hear Belle is doing well.
