One more in my Israel slides to digital images from the 1990s. What you see here are the remains of a Roman aquaduct, lining the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. I tried to do some color correction, as it has picked up a slight bit of pinkishness -- I guess from age.

The architect is amazing. Those Romans certainly knew how to build. Unfortunately it was at the cost of many slaves. Excellent composition.

We are enjoying the blessings of each and every day God gives us, and learning to appreciate not only our days with Bella but also with each other. After all, it's pretty much true that 100 per cent of us will not make it out of this earthly life alive.

@tyan: We are glad also. But her heart condition is not something that allows for her to do this without great risk. So we are careful to limit this as much as possible and yet still allow her the fun she enjoys so much. Our baby is very happy at present, but her heart right now is like that of a very old dog. And that is not a very good thing for her long-term wellness.

Her vet is very good, but he is not God; from what he says I am persuaded it will take a miracle of healing for her heart to be restored to its normal size (enlarged heart), and the valves to heal and work together again as they should.

This is why I am asking for prayers for Bella. She needs a miracle from God. And I believe in my own heart that miracles do still come.

I love this shot, VF ... having stood in a similar spot and marveled at this old aqueduct, this brings back wonderful and meaningful memories. It's difficult to realize that the Romans had the ability to build such a marvel so many years ago. Obviously God gave them their abilities!
