Third in my Found Faces series, images from an afternoon spent in a local salvage yard. Keep looking up!
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/26/08. Saturday. Bella's good this morning; walk was fun/no squirrels, but we did a different block than usual. She likes variety. Breakfast -- meds soon, the post-walk routine. She slept better last night than the one before. Panting still, but it's hot. So, thank you God for another morning blessing today.
Bella and I are grateful for each of you, for caring and singing (love is all around...), and especially for praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are day by day blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle, slowly unfolding.

She reminds me of those carvings they used to have at the front of the ships of the ladies. Very nice capture and I like how you've said we should keep looking up - a gentle reminder of where our strength should come from. Have a wonderful Thursday VF.

She looks so peaceful, I love the little smile on her face, she also looks optimistic and happy. This image say's so much. Beautiful VF. I've decided to ditch the idea of nipping over on a plane to visit this salvage yard, now I'm thinking more container ship. It would be too hard to get one of these statues in the overhead luggage compartment lol :D

she's a good find! I'm wondering why this salvage yard has so many faces? nice capture!

@Cheryl: Thanks for your comment Cheryl. I mentioned to Observing down this thread that this is a specialty salvage yard; their inventory is mostly used (and some new) yard and marine items. Lots of old garden statues to pick from, and other unique stuff. We found this place by accident and whenever we have visitors from away it's one of the main places of interest we take them. They always enjoy.
Again, your title is perfect for the expression!

i like the perspective you used, and the detail work is well done.

Y'know, once you attach a state of mind in the Title, they seem to take on that very attitude : this one does start to look optimistic even in a salvage yard!

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks Ronnie. Yes, I think she is positively optimistic that she'll find a new home.
Good shot

I really like this series, VF! It amazes me that you're able to find so many faces in a salvage yard. Great title again, as well.

@Observing: Truly. This is a specialty salvage yard, specializes in garden and marine items, used and some new.
This is a fabulous title for this photo. It is hard to believe you are in a salvage yard. You have made these statues look like they belong in an ancient Roman museum.

@Helen: Thanks Helen; I was pleasantly surprised myself at the expressiveness of these faces as they emerged onscreen. And yes, they do have something of an ancient artifact look to them. That you would notice this is a very high compliment. Again, much appreciation.
They're all so wonderful... I think I may have blown off a good couple of memory cards in this place. This is another fantastic image, VF!! The texture and patina are so fantastic!!
