Gothic, Key West Style

Know the famous '30s painting by Weston, "American Gothic?" Here in Key West, towering some 30 feet tall outside the museum, the stern couple stands as if they had just jumped off the canvas.

Updating: I did a bit more research and found this sculpture is not 30' tall, but is 25' tall according to my source: http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photoset.gne?set=72157603783821255&nsid=79378456@N00&lang=en-us (sorry, you can cut and paste this url if you like; my computer would not let me select text on here to link direct to the url).

Talk about a weird place for these two to wind up? But behind their severe expressions, beats the hearts of true party animals...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AT AM3. I am out and probably away from the computer all this week. We are headed to north Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with our son and his wife and her family. I hope everyone who celebrates this holiday has a wonderful day, filled with turkey and gratitude for every blessing. And those who do not, I hope will remember to count their blessings and be thankful. Packing and getting the SUV all set for the drive today; we leave very early Tuesday morning and plan to return sometime Sunday.
