It's Sunday y'all! And today we're practically across the street from the Hemingway House in Key West. Here's a weathered church steeple which can be seen very close to here. The paint may be old, but the Word inside is fresh as the morning. Soli Deo Gloria!
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/26/08. Saturday. Bella's good this morning; walk was fun/no squirrels, but we did a different block than usual. She likes variety. Breakfast -- meds soon, the post-walk routine. She slept better last night than the one before. Panting still, but it's hot. So, thank you God for another morning blessing today.
Bella and I are grateful for each of you, for caring and singing (love is all around...), and especially for praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are day by day blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle, slowly unfolding.

@Betty: Thanks. Given the "party place" reputation it has, I was pleasantly surprised to notice the presence of a variety of churches at Key West.
Yes, love the weathered look too and the subtle colors!

Great steeple to capture - I love the weathered paint and the beautiful sky background. I imagine it is hard to keep up with the painting down there. If I may make a recommendation, it would be to straighten the image a bit (you know me and keeping things straight!!!). And you are right, the paint on the steeple doesn't matter as much as the Word inside or the work of His Church in furthering His Kingdom....

@Chris: Heh, <grins> at the thought of Chris going through all our houses, straightening all our hanging pictures.
Believe it or not, I did make a variation on this one that I did "straighten" via picasa that I didn't like as much b/c it seemed to lack some "life" to it after the processing. But you know me, I don't mind non-straight horizons or steeples, I guess.
That's a great angle, lovely capture, and good texture on the wood.

Nice shot, I like the weathered rextures but I feel the image could do with a bit more contrast to maximise the tonal range.

@drphoto: Thanks. I notice you are on an HDR kick at your site. Sure makes for maxed out tonal ranges (sometimes to their best advantage). But I'll really have to give that stuff a try sometime.
You always find such wonderful photos to post, especially on Sundays. This is a perfect example!
