@Mandy: Ha, compared to Africa's crocs (or Australia's "Salties"), these are just big lizards. Occasionally one gets to a human in Florida as our residential growth encroaches on their habitats. It's always big news.

@Teresa Durães: These are exciting tours, you get to go in a boat where they are, sometimes all around the boat. In Louisiana I once went on such a tour and we were visited by a 14 ft alligator. This is one big lizard! I saw several even bigger one in the Florida Everglades, but I was in a safe place and they were basking in the sun.

@MaryB: First Nations or Native Americans or whatever the current PC term is for the great people we used to call "Indians" have beautiful almost musical languages. Many of our river, lake, and place names reflect this beauty.
