OK, the return of the blonde pirate chick... plus an overlay (layering?) of a parade float, its beaded, costumed riders, and the crowd. Just messin' with picasa stuff to see if this one image can catch the whole party spirit in a single blended look...
It's Gasparilla, Tampa's version of Mardi Gras. This year's events just took place several weeks ago. Gasparilla commemorates a mostly-storied pirate invasion of Tampa Bay. Any excuse to celebrate, there are parades, parties, and at times even wildness. People dress up in all sorts of costumes as they stroll along the parade route, in various stages of partying spirit.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/23/08. Wednesday. Another good Bella morning, she is in good spirits, even with they mysterious disappearance of our normally numerous and active neighborhood squirrel population. Maybe "Sheriff Bella" has cleaned out Dodge and sent all those tree-climbing hoodlums packing. Heh.
Bella and I appreciate each of you for caring and praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are daily blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle that is slowly unfolding.

That cartoon face really dominates the photo. Excellent effects.

Wow it's fabulous, and the overlay works like a charm!

I love your experiment here my friend! Your overlay works perfectly. It seems to catch the mood of the party!

I think you did a great job because I was noticing that they were all repeats put together in a collage of sorts. Beautiful!
16 Feb 2008 10:49am
@Steven: Actually, none of these are repeats. It's only two images -- another (different) shot of the blonde pirate lady, and a shot of a different float and costumed riders, along with the same parade watchers who had been standing along the route all along.
Good montage of the festival spirit of Gasparilla Day!

Really creative, but maybe the blonde pirate girl is a bit too hidden...

@vu@granby - Wolfgang Prigge: I agree, she is too transparent.
wow! perfect Idea!

Why has everybody much necklace? However nice artistical shot!
16 Feb 2008 2:21pm
@Porcsin: The necklaces are plastic, brightly colored beads thrown as favors from the riders on the parade floats.
I guess this would be called layering ..... but whatever it's called, it is awesome for sure

@Man With 101 Names: It's actually something I clicked on a picasa button to get. Couldn't manipulate, just chose two images and voila! Layering is ok tech term, I guess. Thanks teacher.
interesting captured ! ... well done , thanks.
