Switching to daytime, in Apalachicola, FL (on the Panhandle) one of the really fun places to stay is the old, historic Gibson Inn. For those who do not know, Apalachicola is one of the great old fishing towns in NW Florida; they are noted for their fishing, nearby beaches, and especially their fresh oysters.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/23/08. Wednesday. Another good Bella morning, she is in good spirits, even with they mysterious disappearance of our normally numerous and active neighborhood squirrel population. Maybe "Sheriff Bella" has cleaned out Dodge and sent all those tree-climbing hoodlums packing. Heh.
Bella and I appreciate each of you for caring and praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are daily blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle that is slowly unfolding.

i could stay a few weeks there. mmmmmmm eating lobster, oysters and other deliciousness right out of the salt water. Those chairs are comfortable too.

@the lightwriter: And truly, there is all sorts of deliciousness out of the salt water right there. Just two blocks from here is the river and on the river there is a restraurant called "Caroline's" and they have the greatest seafood breakfasts -- one of my favorites is shrimp grits (sounds nasty, but oooh! so good).
Looks nice there

A very nice sense of Holiday right here Vf :)

@Lorraine: Let's see if I can delete this one too... heh. Really, this is a very nice place -- like a B&B/hotel in one. Vintage furniture, shiny hardwood floors, a very nice restaurant and bar in the lobby. It's a fun getaway from the ordinary run of the mill hotel/motel scene. And Apalachicola is a fun place to take old Florida panhandle days in, a restful day at a time.
This looks like an idylic place for a restful holiday. A beautiful shot VF.

Apalachicola, FL is also known for the two nearby State Parks, St George Island and St Joseph Peninsula, that have some of the best real beach camping in the US. They are still on my to do list...

@Wolfgang Prigge: Yes, you do know the place. But there is nothing like being there!
Yes, I can see myself sitting there chillaxing with a book, my camera, and a nice cold drink... Nicely done, VF!! You've got us all salivating LOL!!

That looks great. My brother lives over in Melbourne, so I'm going to have to get out that way and make a grand circuit of the state. Close as I have come to that area was a week on Dauphin Island, AL before hurricane Frederick blew it away years ago.
Can Orlando be somehow bypassed? :)
30 Jan 2008 10:55am
@MontereyJohn: Lol. To bypass Orlando, always hug the coastline.
You really have me wishing I was sitting on the porch with the breeze blowing....Nice peaceful image....
