Nice combination. Yes, I'm a fan of the yo yo as well. Got hooked when I was six and experts used to come to the school yard. The choice of book is interesting.

@Michael Skorulski: I love the yo-yo. The book is about American churches rediscovering, remembering, relearning who we are, moving away from self-centered consumerism, and back (perhaps for the first time) to a role of service according to the call and model of Jesus. It is not about sending more missionaries out across the world, but rather a call to realize the mission of the church is everything we are and do, and (for us) it begins with us. In a way, it's about fixing our own house first, taking the log from our own eye before noticing the speck in others' eyes.
Nice shot of "everyday items". Do you yo-yo while reading? I'll keep my eye out for that book (sounds like you are enjoying it) - I have been reading some stuff on missional thinking as well and firmly believe that the church's mission is all around us and that we need to be reaching out in service always.
God bless!

@Chris: Yes, what you say here is what so many of us in the church have seemingly lost or forgotten; we've forgotten that we have not come to be served but to serve. Missional thinking wants us to remember or re-learn, or learn for the first time that there is more to this faith than my own personal desires, or yours. What I like is that it is done in this book so graciously, and without judgmental scolding.
I have mine handy in the kitchen... I've had my yo-yo since I was about 12yrs old. Great shot, VF!! I love the ordinariness of it... which is a good thing ;-)
