Boiled

Posted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, United States) on 22 December 2007 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Here's a festive start to Dimitrios' holiday project. New Orleanians are known for two things: we love spicey boiled seafood, and we don't mind "tacky" things.

No matter where we may live now, by place of origin and birth, Mrs. VF and I are forever New Orleanians. And on our tree one of the tackiest and most fun ornaments is this porcelain boiled shrimp (they were all the rage in New Orleans a couple of decades ago). Our one remaining shrimp still hangs on our tree proudly every year and reminds us of better days back home.

And in addition to this photo being my wish for the merriest Christmas and the happiest New Year to everyone, it's #6 in my random "Treasures on our Tree" series. Jingle bell rock, y'all!

Please pray for Bella.

Bella Update: 10/14/08, Tuesday. Bella will see her doggie cardiologist today. We are hoping and praying he will find some healing/improvement in her heart/aortic valve condition. God is the one who heals and blesses.

Bella's miracle, the one we're all praying for, is still a day by day process; it may take a bit of time for completion. Bella's battle for life, wellness, and needed healing for her heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run. Bella and I thank you for joining her prayer "team" around the world. Each of you are truly special blessings to us.
