It's Thanksgiving week here in the good old USA. Thursday is when we all gather around the food trough to eat ourselves into another annual stupor. But beneath and behind all the feasting is something far more important, and that is the impulse that led us to the moment. The impulse is to be thankful to God for his bounty and blessings. So I am going to spend a week of giving thanks to God for many blessings. Today see a scene from our backyard; I am thankful to God today for our home.
"O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!" (Psalm 118:1)
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/26/08. Saturday. Bella's good this morning; walk was fun/no squirrels, but we did a different block than usual. She likes variety. Breakfast -- meds soon, the post-walk routine. She slept better last night than the one before. Panting still, but it's hot. So, thank you God for another morning blessing today.
Bella and I are grateful for each of you, for caring and singing (love is all around...), and especially for praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are day by day blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle, slowly unfolding.

Thursday is when we all gather around the food trough to eat ourselves into another annual stupor. <--- Ok, so do any of us need an excuse to do this? ;)
Beautiful photo VF. Your home looks very inviting and you can feel the warmth of those who live there. :) Personally, I like to be thankful all year round for those who are around us and for all we have been blessed with in our lives. I am looking forward to seeing more of this series and to learning more about your Thanksgiving.

I think Thanksgiving is such an awesome holiday to celebrate - we don't celebrate it here, but I've always loved the idea of havng a holiday simply to give thanks for our many blessings, because the good Lord knows I am TRULY blessed each and everyday in SO MANY ways!!!
What a wonderful picture of your backyard VF, it looks like you have a very beautiful and loving home...note I didn't say house because a HOME is far more than just the bricks and stone that make up the building!!! Awesome shot, can't wait to see more! Happy Thanksgiving week.

Nice photo with an inviting house and a deep thought, as we are used to from you my friend. P.S.: 15 days, 20 hours in airplanes, 1500 km in a bus and 2115 photos later I'm back from a terrific trip through Tunisia. Am trying to catch up with all of our regular visitors and their recent postings. If you want to see my photos of the trip, go to http://web.mac.com/wolfgang.prigge1 and click on the word "Tunisie" in the top right corner. From there follow the instructions to see the different albums. It might be a bit long with a slow connection. And no, I did not put all my photos up, I managed to wrestle them down to about 800....
