What's this? A fugitive from a couple of days ago, breaking into the peaceful month of November with a belated and Halloweenish "Boo!" or something like that?
No, actually it's a large glazed ceramic mask our VF daughter made once as an art project for school. Check it out, Rabbit. It's currently hanging on our wall in the family room.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 10/12/08, Sun. Bella's in good spirits; we had our morning walk and a squirrel crossed her path. Highlight! Bella will see her doggie cardiologist again on October 14th. As always, God's good blessings and answers to prayer are our continuing hope. Blessings to all.
Bella's miracle, the one we're all praying for, is still a day by day process; it may take a bit of time for completion. Bella's battle for life, wellness, and needed healing for her heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run. Bella and I thank you for joining her prayer "team" around the world. Each of you are truly special blessings to us.

Oh neat! She has a talent. :) It looks like something that could be from some old tribe.

@e.: Thanks e. She is a talented lass, for sure. Very happy you like this.
Cool mask! At first I thought it was made by some ancient tribe until I read your commentary! Cool!

@Craiger: Glad you like it; I know my daughter would say "thanks!" too.
hahha - very cool - your daughter is very talented!!! :) Great shot VF, the orange wall really brings out the detail in the mask

@Mandy: Thanks Mandy; she is a very talented young lady. This was high school. She's now a college grad and has a degree in art; she is trying to get on with the local public schools to teach elementary or middle school art. While she likes ceramics and pottery (among others), her favorite medium is... <drum roll> ta-taaaaa: photography. Imagine that. =o)
VF daughter is really talented! From some angle it actually looks like the Darth Vader from star wars, heh heh heh. And i love the colour of your wall! If i can repaint my house,i'll do that colour!:)

@tyan: Thank you tyan. We're proud of her accomplishments. I think you're right, it's a Darth Vader look, IMO too. But that wasn't her goal, so whether it was her inspiration or not, who knows? As for the color of the wall, my VF wife picked that out. It's called "mango tango" and we got it at Lowe's. It is a great color.
loverly orange! I've long wanted to paint my house this colour! :)

@Shutterbug: My wife loves the color.
very cool View ..... she did an excellent job , had you not told us I would have thought this to be an authentic tribal mask from Africa .

@Me 2: Thanks M2/Rob. Her mom and I really like this piece, too. But our daughter is pretty matter of fact about it and doesn't think it's all that good, can't understand why we want it hanging on our wall.
Well not surprised here I guess she inherited the 'artistic' gene, really WOW!

@Lorraine: You're very kind. If you knew my daughter, you'd say somehow some of her artistry has managed to dust me with just a little bit of itself. She is amazingly creative and sees the world through eyes I never could.
So cool! I like this spooky looking mask - it looks like its talking (or maybe thats just me)

@Rabbit: No Rabbit, but it went to the dentist and did not have an "A" day; hard to floss just one brown tooth.
This is so cool!

@Reza: Thanks; that our daughter made it gives it special appeal here at home.
It is a very cool piece of art.

@Michael Rawluk: So glad you think so. We like it.

@Stunner: Good; glad it works well for you.
I like the starkness of the photo.
2 Nov 2007 12:38pm
@Ken McCoy: Yes, it has a stark but commanding presence on the particular wall it hangs upon.
Excelente captura, una gran fotografia. Saludos!

@Mingo: Gracias, mi amigo; y saludos tambien!
Wonderful capture of a striking mask. I know where your daughter got that wonderful, artistic talent from!
2 Nov 2007 2:38pm
@Brian: Thanks, but she's such a versatile and creative, outside the box kind of artist. I don't hold a candle to her abilities.
cool mask! i love the warm colors and the angling of this shot!

@M.E.: Thanks! Your words of commendation are most kind and appreciated.
I thought it was a tribal mask too! you have a very talented, and creative daughter Mr & Mrs VF :) The mask looks great against that georgous orange wall ( orange is my favourite colour, even my cell phone is orange LOL :D )

@MaryB: Merci beaucoup, MaryB. We're agree, she's a pretty talented young lady. This particular orange (called "mango tango") is my wife's favorite color in the entire house.
