Fall, y'all -1Posted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 18 October 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Back in Georgia, the Fall season was a short but colorful time of year. This backyard birdhouse and these bright red berries are happy Fall momentoes now that we live in Florida-land, which is more than beautiful in its way, but definitely autumnally-challenged this time of year.

Organik Mum from Victoria, AustraliaBeautiful colours VF. Captured it perfectly. 18 Oct 2007 7:25am @Organik Mum: Thank you OM. Glad for your cordial comment. tyan from Singapore, SingaporeOhhhhh, lovely! The colours are just so beautiful together! The red,the amber, the brown....thanks so much for coming by and always leaving such a personal and very encouraging message, dear VF.I really appreciate it:) 18 Oct 2007 7:36am @tyan: You're making me blush. Thanks for being such a nice friend tyan. And could you cook up some of that baked fish and send it my way today? It looks so delicious! Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWonderful, warm and welcoming autumnal photo VF, brilliant for someone who doesn't get any Fall ;) 18 Oct 2007 9:33am @Lorraine: <smiling ruefully> I've only lived one year in Florida. Before this, and for the last 20 years, we'd lived in GA, KY, and Iowa. Got lots of Fall in those places. Maybe this is why I'm feeling like something's missing this year. Wolfgang Prigge from CanadaNice composition, and for the Fall colors come up here! 18 Oct 2007 10:26am @Wolfgang Prigge: Thanks, and oh yes, if I could only travel up there this time of year. Thanks for the invite! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomWhat a beautiful Pyracantha, VF. Just bursting with juicy berries, a magnificent image! and you have the georgous honey tones of the wood again, that you capture so well. :) 18 Oct 2007 10:27am @MaryB: Lol. Ah, so you know the pyracantha by name; cool. I was too sleepy to try to spell it when first posted, so "berries" worked well for my purposes. Jen from Alpharetta, United StatesGreat tones and colors...the leaves are just starting to turn here...I think this weekend would be a good one to go up to Helen or Ellijay for the apple festival. 18 Oct 2007 10:50am @Jen: Or even Dahlonega... I'm feeling the urge to migrate up north (to No. GA) to enjoy those festivities. Wish I could. Me , Myself & Eye from The WAY BEYOND,berry nice shot Vman , I think Candace's bird must hide out in that house !! 18 Oct 2007 12:49pm @Me , Myself & Eye: It was a bird B&B; we had many celebrity guests fly in to stay a while... Amir from IranIt's not Georgia, but the entire south/south eastern region of US that has short fall. Here in Texas it got cold in no time. Lovely shot, beautiful colors. 18 Oct 2007 2:17pm @Amir: Right you are -- Louisiana's Fall seasons are short and mostly hit and miss; if you happen to be north of Lake Pontrchartrain you might see changing leaf colors if you hit it just right. GA has a bit more Autumn; there are mountains in the northerly parts of the state and you get some pretty nice colors. KY was great for colors; Fall peak is probably going on right about now in most parts of the state. Iowa had great colors, but fewer trees in general and it got really cold, fast. Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesThe tones are just so pretty and autumn like. 18 Oct 2007 2:54pm @Rabbit: Memories of Fall are all I've got now in Florida. As snowbird type people begin to migrate here for the winter, in Fall I wonder about migrating north for just a few weeks to enjoy the season. But I think you gotta live in the full four seasons environment, or else the change won't feel as "personal" when you just sort of drop in on Autumn someplace from elsewhere. However, that being said, I'd like to "drop in" on some autumnal places somewhere, rather than have no fall at all. amy from Rocky Mountain House, AB, CanadaColours and textures are so wonderful... with that folk art touch. Wonderful Viewfinder!! 18 Oct 2007 3:36pm @amy: Thank you amy, the folk art is just lagniappe (something extra). @Nadine: I hope it's an upbeat mood... thank you for such a helpful and insightful comment. Brian from United StatesHere in Indiana the Fall is well underway, but we are still enjoying some last days with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. I shiver when I think what is round the corner! But this image captures the very best of the season. 18 Oct 2007 4:45pm @Brian: That's true. The cool thing about viewing Autumn from the safety of computer screens is that we Florida folk don't have to deal with the long cold winter temps and icy conditions y'all have ahead of you. @badala: Thank you badala; I'm pleased you like this. Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaHow beautiful VF...this scene reminds me of Christmas!!! Hmmm...I thinkit's those beautiful red berries! hahaha. Thanks so much for your very kind words on my suburban sunset......I must say we have really spectacular sunsets here....there are best viewed driving on the highways and brdiges where there are no rooftops or walls getting in the way.....hahahaha. I was standing atop the kitchen stool to get it at that angle without too much of suburbia in the picture!! hahaha. 18 Oct 2007 4:52pm @Mandy: Yes, the Christmas mood is definitely embedded in this little shot. Can't believe it will be Christmas in just two or three blinks from now. I am really smiling at your description of you standing on a kitchen stool out in the driveway to get just the right angle on your sunset. I guess we photographers have to be part time contortionists or gymnasts, or willing to risk life and limb and dignity to get our shots, eh? Blessings, Mandy. @Evi: Many thanks, Evi. Glad you like this. HorseRotorVator from Newton, United StatesVery nice shot...the colors and great! 18 Oct 2007 8:47pm @HorseRotorVator: Happy to please ya' today, HRV. Thanks. @Reza: I appreciate your compliment Reza. Dawn Sutherland from Phoenix, United StatesGeorgia.....Georgia (in my best Ray Charles impersonation) Beautiful image!! 18 Oct 2007 10:29pm @Dawn Sutherland: You know the night-time is the right time, baby! LOL. Thanks Dawn, you did a good Ray Charles! Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomA truly delightful scene that brings real joy to the soul, dear VF. Wonderful reminders of this beautiful season. :) 19 Oct 2007 1:05am @Rebecca: Bless you Rebecca. You are a wonderful friend and encouragement, a blessing to me and so many here at Am3. Thank you for these very kind words of affirmation. @Susan: I do appreciate the kind words Susan. Thank you for coming by here tonight. @Lost Valley View: Thanks! Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaLovely shot Viewfinder! Those birds have a great home. 19 Oct 2007 3:21am @Stunner: Thanks Stunner. Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesNice composition and color. It looks like the berries are tempting the birds to come out for a bite to eat :) 19 Oct 2007 3:33am @Ken McCoy: It would be for them like having a fast food place right outside their door. Takiyah from Snellville, United StatesBeautiful shot VF:) You're right about Fall being short here in GA. Wish my favorite season would last just a bit longer! 19 Oct 2007 4:46am @Takiyah: Thank you Takiyah... and enjoy it (the Fall season however short it may be)... You still get more Fall there than we do down here in Florida. bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United Kingdomhey VF--popping berry red against the wood tones--excellent capture my friend--Welshbilly 19 Oct 2007 8:55pm @bronzebilly u.k.: Thank you Sir William, for this very nice compliment.
