Cracked UpPosted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 10 October 2007 in Architecture and Portfolio. The river runs through stands of oak, maple, sweet gums, cypress, and pine. This surface shot of a Tickfaw River dockside shows a few of the ever-present pine needles, fallen on the weathered wood. And there's this one black crack between the old boards, leading to...? The river rolls on. Yes, it's photoshopped a tiny bit for brightness and contrast. #2 of Tickfaw River Days.

Nobody from Here and There, United StatesCURSE YOU VF !!!!!! ...lol... you find some of the coolest images to capture and you have such a perfect way of framing them ....... maybe tommorow you can post just an average shot so the rest of us can feel better about our pictures ...LMAO ..... just kidding Sir , always look forward to seeing what the Man with Majestic Views will come up with :o) Have a wonderful day ! 10 Oct 2007 9:14am @Nobody: There, there Rob, don't take it so hard. But what about me? Imagine how I must feel when I have this great new D80 and haven't had time to do much travelling to use it anywhere cool like this (or better) -- I mean, if this can be done with a middle-range digital like my (beloved) Konica-Minolta, what could this new super-duper camera I now have do? Don't you feel sorry for me? (joking y'all...) Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaAwesome VF!! Makes you wonder at the history of the deck ...alll the years of memories it holds! A very cool subject indeed...... There is so much happening here! :) 10 Oct 2007 9:47am @Mandy: A very sweet affirmation, Mandy. Thank you. And, yes what is the history of this spot along the river? What's really cool is that shots like this were just beyond the back porch of many of the houses along that little river cove we stayed in. It's probably like that for most of us, wherever we are. Our job as photographers is to discover them... Blessings, my friend. @Wolfgang Prigge: Thank you! Sometimes they really work well. I was also pleased with the way this one came out.
