Here's a ghostly something from Atlanta's Stone Mountain that sort of hearkens back to another day and time. It also hearkens back to one of my old digital cameras. Can you say "archives" ???
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/26/08. Saturday. Bella's good this morning; walk was fun/no squirrels, but we did a different block than usual. She likes variety. Breakfast -- meds soon, the post-walk routine. She slept better last night than the one before. Panting still, but it's hot. So, thank you God for another morning blessing today.
Bella and I are grateful for each of you, for caring and singing (love is all around...), and especially for praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are day by day blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle, slowly unfolding.

Great detail! I find this almost "alive" like they are talking to one another!

@Lost Valley View: It offers a striking image all right; it is larger than it looks, too.
Very nice shot and indeed the detail is great !!

@ColNed Pictures: This is a very interesting monument set in a beautiful park; sort of unexpected in modern Atlanta, which has become one of the least "Southern" of all major Southern cities in the United States (according to what some lifelong Atlanteans have told me -- lots of nice folks moving in from up north).
Stone Mountain...wow, excellent detail here VF...very very very nice!!!

@Jen: It's probably my favorite spot in all Atlanta (the whole park, I mean)...

@Nick Passantino: Thanks Nick; right now the archives are far deeper than my D80 portfolio.
Very cool, looks like a turbidite sequence! Lovely sculptures aswel!

@DaveB: A turbidite sequence? Duh, I thought it was just a big rock. Heh. Thanks Dave.
It was a nice camera and is a nice image.

@Amir: I liked it a lot; gave it to my son and he likes it, but now he also has a D80, yet he won't give the Konica-Minolta back...
Really neat shot! The figures almost look like they're melting into the stone.

@e.: Old soldiers never die... I like to think they're sort of riding off into the sunset of history.

@KMF: Thanks KMF!
I love Stone Mountain; it's place I always visit when I'm in Atlanta. That Z2 did a great job!

@Brian: It's a cool place. BTW, thinking about your photo of the drying corn today, have you ever visited "The Corn Palace" in South Dakota. You should see that place.
Great sculptures and textures, Atlanta is still on my to do list, but from what I heard there are no good RV parks in the immediate area...

@Wolfgang Prigge: As for RV parks, I do not know; metro Atlanta is a pretty big city with lots of suburbs (14 counties large). I am sure there must be something decent in striking distance.
Interesting, very interesting...
