New SunsetPosted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 3 October 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. Flying down I-75 southbound, on our way back from Atlanta last Sunday, we were getting near to Tampa when this sunset painted sky started begging to be shot from the moving car. So I did, at somewhere around 75 mph. My bride was at the wheel.

Now my secret is out. Oh, well... Good morning (from this side of the continent and ocean). Am happy you like this shot and that it conjured up such a wild image -- really it was just me and the open window while Mrs. VF was driving our Hyundai down I-75. I promise I wasn't hanging out of it, twisting in the wind with camera in hand. =o) @ColNed Pictures: Tip o'the hat to you, too. @Paulo Santos: Thanks Paulo. @Jen: Right, it was a cool sky along I-75 last Sunday. You almost "had" to be there to see how much glow was there. This shot hardly does it justice; wait until tomorrow... kairospix from Singapore, Singaporevery interesting cloud formations with interesting colours 3 Oct 2007 11:30am @kairospix: Thank you kairospix. @Sriram: Your comment is appreciated Sriram. Blessings. tyan from Singapore, Singaporethank you uncle VF for visiting my blog today,i left u a reply, which i will leave it here as well for your convenience. Cheers! thank you so much Uncle VF,for your very wonderfully kind words. It brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes.In this time and age,it seems so much more difficult to sacrifice,at least not out of one's comfort zone. So it has been so hard, both doing it and finding like-minded companions on this road less travelled. Feel free to use hub's thoughts in your church,we are happy that it comes in handy:) 3 Oct 2007 2:11pm @Laurie: Am happy they are pleasing to you. @Amir: Many thanks for the nice comment. @Wolfgang Prigge: Wish you could have seen it -- the clouds were almost cast as stripes across the sky. @LuisRodrigues: I thought so too; very unusually attractive cloud and light patterns that day. Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesThis looks to be almost abstract - a great dose of feathered color. 3 Oct 2007 6:48pm @Rabbit: That day the whole sky seemed almost an abstract; could you make this happen on something with pottery/glaze? MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomGosh! what georgous colours in the sky that day! Beautiful VF :) 3 Oct 2007 7:12pm @MaryB: Thanks, MB. Have you left for Italy yet? Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomWow, wonderful light in these clouds! This is such a majestic scene, VF! A marvellous collaboration between you and Mrs VF resulting in the capture of such an inspiring image! Truly most beautifully done, sir! :) 3 Oct 2007 7:44pm @Rebecca: You've given us a high compliment Rebecca; thank you, on behalf of Mrs. VF and me (the dream team)... M.E. from Encino, CA, United Stateslove the play of light and colors! good teamwork, i should also say. :) 4 Oct 2007 12:56am @M.E.: Thanks, with 35 years experience together we do work well as a team. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomNot yet, VF, leaving today the 5th :) I am looking forward to the trip as I will see Rome and Pompeii (amongst other wonderful places) for the first time, they have both been a dream to see since I was a little girl, but it's the first time we have gone away alone, will miss my boys sooooo much, even though they are 22 and 18, I know they are young men now but in my heart they are still my babies LOL Adam lives away from home but I know he will keep an eye on Joshua for us :) 4 Oct 2007 1:14am @MaryB: Have a great time Mary, and your sons will do fine. Leaving them home lets them continue to experience the independence most young men think they crave, and also helps them appreciate their parents more (in your absence) when you return. @amy: Thank you Miss Amy. Brian from United StatesVF--Thanks for your kind comments on my page today. This is a lovely, peaceful image. I could just lose myself in those clouds. I'm glad you were able to pull this shot off! 4 Oct 2007 2:13am @Brian: Oh you are more than welcome Brian. And thank you for the nice comment here today. Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com from Glenmoore, United StatesVF! One of your best... such mood and softness here... I love it! 4 Oct 2007 2:23am @Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com: Wow! Thanks a lot Betsy. @See The Light: Glad to please. Thanks! Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesCould i make that happen. well when certain colors overlap they sorta do that... i shall try to hunt one of my pieces down that i do think (if i remember correctly) looks like this feathered kind of thing... Otherwise i could actually glaze in one color then take a feather and dip in a different color then swoosh it across it - i bet that could give me a similar effect (hummm thanks for the idea) i'll try it next time i'm glazing. 4 Oct 2007 4:38pm @Rabbit: If you do try this with your glazes and it works, be sure to name the creation after me... heh. Bron from Canberra, AustraliaWonderful sky VF and blessings for your son in this time of healing for him. 5 Oct 2007 1:10am |
