So here is another look at that ever-popular faux flamingo sculpture, made of aluminum (or some kind of shiny metal), which I discovered in my walk through the Art District in Bradenton. It's another D80 shot, by popular demand. I aim to please... heh.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 10/14/08, Tuesday. Bella will see her doggie cardiologist today. We are hoping and praying he will find some healing/improvement in her heart/aortic valve condition. God is the one who heals and blesses.
Bella's miracle, the one we're all praying for, is still a day by day process; it may take a bit of time for completion. Bella's battle for life, wellness, and needed healing for her heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run. Bella and I thank you for joining her prayer "team" around the world. Each of you are truly special blessings to us.

@e.: The birdie says, "Thank you!" in a very cool kind of way.
An original work of art - cool!

@Takiyah: An original expression of gratitude comes your way from the birdie. And that thanks is not faux.
Very cool indeed! Superb textures.

@Manuela Photography: Thank you for these nice comments Manuela.
It's beautiful VF!! The texture on the body and the top of his neck is awesome! I like the angle of the light and your DOF, it really brings that Flamingo to life! :)

@Mandy: Believe it or not, this is not an easy subject to photograph. It's a little too big to get close and do more than capture just some features. So I was skeptical as to whether any of the shots I took would amount to anything. But by the reactions that have been posted here for Faux 1 and now this one, my apprehension was maybe a little premature. Thanks for the positive reviews here, Mandy. And many blessings for your day.
hooray for VF! thanks i love the aluminium series! They are gorgeous!:)

@Lorraine: It could be pewter - can pewter be as shiny as chrome sometimes? B/c some of the sculptures by this same artist are that shiny, others are a mix like this one, and some are definitely looking like pewter.
look at those textures!!! I love metal work and this is a great and I mean great working of it.

@Walt: I am enjoying it, and would just as soon go out on a photo safari so I can really get to know all the ins and outs of it. Thanks for the kind words today.
Loving the texture of the wings and the way the sunlight is catching them, it looks like the bird is about to take flight! Beautiful VF :)

@Shutterbug: Nice comment, the bird thanks you.
Ah, ooh la la! Love this one! Definitely one of my favourites here! :-) The angle, the light, the depth of field and marvellous tones (i must say it’s approaching deep silver!!) all work perfectly and ever so beautifully here, VF. This “aluminium” bird does indeed look alive and ready to fly!! :)

@Rebecca: I am so glad you like this one. It's an interesting sculpture to see in real life, and not the easiest to photograph. That it came out as well as it did, and that so many do seem to really like it came as something of a pleasant surprise to me. Blessings to you Rebecca. Have a wonderful Thursday.
NICELY done Viewfinder!! The dof sets this sculpture off wonderfully!
