Watch Out!Posted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 13 September 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. In walking the usually friendly-by-daytime back streets of the Bradenton Art District, the VF eye fell upon this one particular posted area. For some reason he smiled, and thought of his New York friend Rebel Szczesny, the Streetshooter... D80, the 4th posting.

@Myst: :-) @Keneth: Thank you. tyan from Singapore, Singaporeya i thought of rebel too,for some reason, even before i read your comment!!! 13 Sep 2007 7:49am @tyan: Lol. Yes, I think some don't have a bad dog, but would like a thief to think they do. Mandy from Johannesburg, South AfricaNice comp VF. I see what you mean - the colours are still lovely!!! I like this one....the light dappled leaves really jumped out at me and the texture of the tree is AWESOME!! :) 13 Sep 2007 7:53am @Mandy: Thanks Mandy, for being so kind to my little snapshot today. @Craiger: Thank you Craiger; your shot today is out of this world (groan... pun intended). @Lorraine: Thanks, I'm just happy the bad dog didn't catch me... Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com from Glenmoore, United Stateslove it - good signs are the best! 13 Sep 2007 11:49am @Betsy Barron : www.thebetsy.com: =o) Glad you like! Thanks. @HorseRotorVator: You're a prince. Thanks. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomVery well spotted VF, If the first sign didn't have the desired effect then the second one definatly would! :) 13 Sep 2007 12:27pm @MaryB: Heh... sort of like a double-take. "Don't trespass here, no don't trespass..." zoloper from Bucuresti, Romanianice shot :) you are starting to get familiar with your camera ;) 13 Sep 2007 12:37pm @zoloper: Thank you, zoloper. Long way to go before I am totally familiar with this new baby, but I do like it. Lost Valley Views from CanadaFantastic POV on this photo! I think it is ironic too that you would find a sign like this in a friendly neighborhood. Your camera is working very well! 13 Sep 2007 2:18pm @Lost Valley Views: Thank you LVV, for this nice comment. I'm glad the irony has not escaped your notice. Probably this is a leftover from when this was a dying neighborhood, before the art district was created and began the gradual turnaround that is still going on. Nick Passantino from Bronx, United Statesi would stay away.. i agree this is a very rebel-esque shot. nice one 13 Sep 2007 2:45pm @Nick Passantino: Lol. Thanks Nick... I am wondering where the good Rebel is today, and what his lens is seeing. I noticed he's been on a car kick the last couple of days. Where y'at, RS? @colin: Thank you colin. @sandra: You're safe. Thanks for coming by. Jen from Alpharetta, United StatesGreat eye VF and yes it does remind me of Rebel! 13 Sep 2007 5:02pm @Jen: Thanks for the kind words Jen. Am glad this shot's mission has been accomplished. @Dawn Sutherland: Glad of that, Dawn! Blessings. Rebecca from Leicester, United Kingdomlol :-) How ingenious are these signs!! And an absolutely brilliant capture, VF! :) I really like the contrast here between the natural woodland colours and the stark tones of the manmade signs! I must say too though that whilst our Rebel is certainly one with a cause :), I'm not too sure whether the same can be said of the originators of these signs!! 13 Sep 2007 8:32pm @Rebecca: You are so right -- there is a pretty good contrast between the materials of the sign and the natural environment they are in. Also between the friendly district and this stark reminder that not all are friends there. I'm glad you noticed this. Markus from Reading, United KingdomFunny, the discrepancy between good + bad so close together! :-) 13 Sep 2007 9:14pm @Markus: Thanks for the observation Markus. Glad you dropped over. bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomhey VF--billy's about--you've taken some great shots so far with your new camera--very colourful and sharp--keep 'em coming pal--nice to "see" you--billy 14 Sep 2007 12:56am @bronzebilly u.k.: Many thanks Billy; I'm always glad to hear from the Welsh delegation. How've you been, my friend? Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesHa hahahahah - yeah this sign makes me crack up as well. We all need to capture these moments of things that will make us remember our walks and what makes us laugh. 15 Sep 2007 7:00am |
