Sunset 2Posted by Viewfinder (Bradenton, FL, United States) on 21 August 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This is a wide angle shot of a late July sunset as it softly glows off the elongated shoreline waters of Anna Maria Island. In response, the rest of the sky becomes like a harlequin riot. In this series, my hope has been to show off just a few of the many different moods found around this amazingly wonderful time of day.

@obrazu: Thank you obrazu. Some days those clouds are just so willing to be photographed, it's like they just about line up. Other days, not so willing... @tyan: You are very kind tyan. Thank you for taking time to comment about the beach and the texture. Hope your day has been filled with blessings. @Evi: You can't imagine the variety of colorful skies here until you've been around this place for some time and seen the seasons come and go. I'm here a year and have hardly scratched the surface. Glad you enjoyed the colors today. @Bron: Well that's a really encouraging thing to say Bron. Thank you, my friend. Rebel Streetshooter from Big Apple - NYC, United StatesThe Series is becoming a wonderful array of line, tone, color. 21 Aug 2007 11:12am @Rebel Streetshooter: Thanks mon ami. Compliments are always gratefully received. Blessings to you today. Lorraine from CanadaHEAVEN, a glimpse thereof...who dares not believe in divinity :) 21 Aug 2007 11:20am @Lorraine: Wow, thanks for adding your thoughts Lorraine. Glad you like my little turn of words here, too. Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomSo clearly and beautifully captured that precious ball illuminating the horizon. And that cloudscape and seascape, just breathtaking. Pardon me, but this has to be another wow! :) 21 Aug 2007 12:36pm @Rebecca: Well, I'll take that second "wow!" with a big "THANKS!" for your kindness. But could I also have a bite of that delicious-looking cake at your site to go along with it? R from the Murky Depths of Hell, United Stateswish I was seeing that view right now ..... awesome job , View ! 21 Aug 2007 1:05pm @R: Thank you R, the sunsets here truly are a daily celebration. Brian from United StatesGorgeous! What a wonderful sea and sky--a harlequin riot indeed! 21 Aug 2007 1:18pm @Brian: You are paying me a big compliment, Brian. Thank you. Your own Captiva Sunset today is breath-takingly beautiful. I hope folks now here will visit your site to see it, in all its blazing glory. Persian King from Fort Worth, TX, United StatesThis is one extremely beautiful and well taken sunset photograph. I love how the clouds and waves are in sync. 21 Aug 2007 1:32pm @Persian King: Thank you PK. I'm happy that you find this one pleasing. I wondered how it would come out, because using the wider angle definitely places the setting sun into an almost "otherworldly" distance -- but I wanted a "bigger picture" to pull in all of the variously pleasing sunset elements of sun, sky, and sea visible at that particular moment. Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesYour clouds are cool - they look like cut outs! 21 Aug 2007 3:56pm @Rabbit: Thanks; you should have seen them in person that day. Very unusual -- cutouts could be a good description, up there in the sky. @Shrig: Thanks. But golden? tengtan from Melbourne, AustraliaThe colour is special here with the lovely reflected light from the waves. The centred horizon works well because of the difference in texture and tone between the sea and the sky. 21 Aug 2007 7:10pm @tengtan: Thanks for these good words of analysis and affirmation. M.E. from Encino, United Statesyou captured it so well! excellent showcase of sunsets! i love both of them. 21 Aug 2007 7:10pm @M.E.: You are kind. Wolfgang Prigge from Granby, CanadaAnother beautiful sunset! The little "puffs" of dark clouds make this one different. It could be used as a background for a poster of some sacred text... 22 Aug 2007 1:21am @Wolfgang Prigge: Well this is a very high compliment for this little image; thank you my friend. @Betsy Barron: Thank you much, Betsy. But I want to know at your site, what's coming tomorrow? I really liked today's image.
