From the oldie files. Caught my interest because of the way these live oaks framed this Savannah (GA) cathedral's spire. I've also produced this image in a sepia tone and like it even better than the color version. But for some reason I decided to post the color one instead. Ah, well...
Happy Sunday. Soli Deo Gloria.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 07/26/08. Saturday. Bella's good this morning; walk was fun/no squirrels, but we did a different block than usual. She likes variety. Breakfast -- meds soon, the post-walk routine. She slept better last night than the one before. Panting still, but it's hot. So, thank you God for another morning blessing today.
Bella and I are grateful for each of you, for caring and singing (love is all around...), and especially for praying. Please understand this miracle being prayed for, because although it is day by day, it also may take a bit of time for completion: Bella's battle for life, wellness, and a healed heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run.
What we have right now are day by day blessings: I am prayerfully thankful that her good days may be God's bit by bit miracle, slowly unfolding.

Great shot through the trees! :)

@HorseRotorVator: Just goes to show you: you can see the steeple because of the trees. Groan. Thanks for the encouragement, HRV.

@Saed: Thank you for the kind word of encouragement.
Fantastic framing!!! Love Savannah and it's great architecture. Have you ever been to Charleston?
22 Jul 2007 9:14am
@Jen: Thanks, Jen. Savannah, New Orleans, Boston, St. Augustine, and Charleston are my favorite cities. Their architecture, history, scale, feel and ambiance all come together for me. When I went to Charleston, it was pre-digital days and I was in-between working 35mm film cameras, so no pix. I want to go back someday, digitally armed and dangerous. Just you wait! Heh.
Nice view of the cathedral. Good!

@adalove: Thank you so much.
I can just picture the sepia one and I am sure it is a stunner. The color one works nicely also. Love the framing.

@Dawn Sutherland: You've tempted me to maybe post the sepia one down the road somewhere. Thanks, your positive comments are a real encouragement.
The trees do make a nice frame for the shot. I'm a fan of colour, but why not post the sepia one for a comparison

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you for taking a look at this one; I may well take you up on your suggestion to post the sepia version as a comparison one day in the next month or so. I've already mapped out the next few weeks here, so be watching.
Great natural framing here, pal...nicrly done. And what a magnificent building that you have captured. Hope you are having a blessed Sunday. Cheers!

@{H} creatives: What can I say, but thanks... you are a real encourager. Blessings to you.
Very nice picture. I see what you mean about a sepia version. Why not also try digital hand colouring?

@Aayawa: Be looking in about three weeks and I'll post my sepia version; it's cropped and a little different but still quite recognizable. I prefer it to this version, but I like this one too. Thank you for the compliment.
Nice image Viewfinder.

@Rebel Streetshooter: You are most kind, mon ami.
Nice use of the trees to frame this. It appears to be a beautiful building.

@Evie: Thank you Evie; it is a very beautiful cathedral in an eye-catching setting.
When you do go back...they you will absolutely need a HUGE memory card. Between the buildings, baskets, landscapes and people...it's incredible. I have a some shots in my portfolio from late last year and early this year...can't wait to go back again! They have a photography tour, but I have no idea if it's any good...I like to just wander myself.
22 Jul 2007 5:05pm
@Jen: That's what I want to do -- wander around and get a photographic "feel" for everything. That takes time; those tours are sometimes too structured for that kind of slow meandering.
I agree....The framing is excellent
