Doorway

Even before Katrina wrecked much of New Orleans, I've had a passion for taking pictures of my home city of New Orleans. Doors, windows and gates in the Vieux Carre (French Quarter) are a special interest. I kind of wanted this one to to have a "through the mists of time" feel. Does it work for you?

@Cathie et Michel: Have you ever gone to L'Nouvelle Orleans? Much of what we call "the French Quarter" is actually of colonial Spanish architectural style. But it is a wonderful place to visit.

Yes, it works. A little sepia toning might enhance the feeling of age, but it's got a nice feel and I like the processing.

I agree entirely with you about images of old doors and windows but have no idea why they hold an attraction! It must be one of those deeply psychological things we have as human beings. Go for it as I'm sure you're onto someting Viewfinder.
