No, this is not a KISS concert. A thing to do in New Orleans during the hottest days and nights of summertime is to go get a snowball (sno-cones on steroids). They are sold all over, and come in a host of delicious flavors, and the ice is shaved as fine as real snow. My wife's unnamed (but playful) sister here just finished a spearmint snowball. Her tell-tale tongue is the dead giveaway of the flavor. Me, I like chocolate cream or nectar cream best.
Please pray for Bella.
Bella Update: 9/6/08, Sat. A nicely cool Florida morning. Bella likes days like this. Nothing special going on this morning, she's out in the yard now playing with our cat Stella (yes, the names rhyme)... God is good.
Bella's miracle, the one we're all praying for, is still a day by day process; it may take a bit of time for completion. Bella's battle for life, wellness, and needed healing for her heart isn't a sprint but a long-distance run. Bella and I thank you for joining her prayer "team" around the world. Each of you are truly special blessings to us.

@Dimitrios: Enjoy!
So colorful! Good composition. So good to hear that New Orleans is coming back to life ; being again fun and colorful .

NOLA is very slowly emerging; the Vieux Carre was not badly damaged so it is the first to recover. This was taken near the French Market. Other parts of the city are not so fast to re-build. The scale of destruction is of epic proportion. The lack of courageous, visionary political/governmental help on every level (local, state, national) only makes a bad situation worse. So New Orleanians must celebrate what they can, where they can, and embrace life's little pleasures. Like spearmint snowballs.

Snocones...hmm looks like someone might have been kissin' toads. Very fun picture!
16 Jul 2007 6:51pm
@Lee Blades: Ha-ha! It ain't toads, man. F'sure, it's snowballs... spearmint always leaves that tell-tale green tongue. But it's not sno-cones; that's the junk that you get everywhere but in New Orleans -- just ice chunks with colored liquid sugar. Waaaay different thing. Snowballs are an art form and a summertime staple of real New Orleans cuisine, but are very much hardly known outside of the city. For the life of me, if pan-blackened fish is a hit everywhere, I don't understand how New Orleans style snowballs have not gone national.
hey Viewfinder--surely she's not putting that tongue back in-in that state;-))--humorous shot--billy
@bronzebilly u.k.: Ha-ha! I think she did. Thanks, Billy.
